The vintage ring is gorgeous!

I absolutely love esmerald cut stones, both step cuts and modified brilliant cuts. I wanted to stay within a 2K budget because we are also saving for a home/wedding. I also had my heart set on a stone that was at leat 7x5mm. We ended up choosing a gorgeous yellow sapphire that was just the perfect sunshiny shade for me. I can’t wait for it to be officially mine. Wink

I would say figure out which of the 4C’s is most important for you and go from there. The website Pricescope has a ton of information about stones, settings and vendors, including some that offer discounts to forum members. Doing your research there is 100% worth it. I set my SO up with a great discount, local store authorized to carry that particular quoted us a price, and the vendor I was recommended there was $500+ under that for the exact same setting. I have found that Gemvara and Blue Nile are both over priced.

Yay!! I’m glad to know you’re getting that one.

I’m not a crazy sparkle girl either. I ended up with a round diamond in an antique rose gold setting, but something like what you’re getting was a very close second. Presence is a good way to put it.

@Halloweenie:  OMG no brainer!! It’s like exactly the same setting you posted in your OP.  Go with the antique diamond ring!

Editting to note:  I see that you made your decision already and I am oh-so happy you chose the vintage ring!  Please take tonnes and tonnes of photos once you receive it and share them with us πŸ™‚

I love the vintage one!! I love emeralds too but wanted a little more sparkle so the rectangle radiant does it for me.  When I started reading your post I was right there with you hoping that the bees had some good ideas, which they did.  But, when you posted the pic of the vintage one, I just said, AHHHH! out loud and woke the dog up!  I love it for you and hope you get it. It is so close do your vision that I think it was meant for you!!
