Hi again! We finally got engaged, and instead of starting a new thread I thought I’d just update this one. It was really romantic, I’m happy as can be, and after wearing my ring for a while, I love it even more and am so happy we jumped on it, even if I had to endure a torturous wait for a while. 🙂
Here are some pics! And yes, I still think my half carat sparkler is plenty big. Ha, really funny how these things turn out!

AHHH love your ring so much! Congrats on becoming engaged as well 🙂

Congrats OP, your vintage ring is so beautiful – I am looking for the exact same thing so hope I can stumble on something as good as you did (my budget is the same as yours)

Your ring is beautiful! And how awesome is it that you managed to find the perfect antique ring like that – sounds like it was “meant to be”!

Ahhh I’m so glad you came back and updated!! Your ring is stunning!
I am such a sucker for any kind of rectangular stone! Emerald, radiant, Krupp, baguette, elongated cushion. Give me all of the stones!

So exciting, best of luck to you!! I love this style so much, impossible to get sick of it, and luckily it was popular way back in the days too, so I hope you’ll run across a few good contenders! eBay has some that are kind of close, budget-wise, if no antique stores cut it. And thank you!
Thank you! I like to think so too. 🙂
Thanks!! Mmmmm, rectangles. I agree, I need ’em all!

Halloweenie: congrats on your engagement!!! I’m glad everything worked out perfectly and I absolutely love your ring, but I’m a bit biased because I picked out a similar setting ha ha! 😉
I love the shape of the baguettes, I don’t really like the short fat ones.
Have you thought about a wedding band? Abother bee posted this set:
The setting we picked out came with that band, but you could always have it made!

Thanks much! 🙂 ceemarie7:
Thank you! I haven’t really, but I was thinking maybe a slender round brilliant eternity band? The one thing is my ring is vintage platinum, PT900, and I don’t know if I can wear it with PT950 without damaging it. May have to hit the antique stores again to ask!
I love the look of the matched set though, really beautiful! 😀

oh I’ve never heard for that before, learn something new everyday! Good luck with searching, I’m sure you will find something amazing!

Your ring is GORGEOUS!!! Im not usually a fan of baguettes, but they look beautiful next to your emerald cut! Congrats! =)

It looks so great on your finger and I just love your ring! Congrats on being able to now wear it 🙂

If you’re open to having a non diamond ring, Eidelprecious has some beautiful rings! I saw one on there with a white sapphire set in a rose hold halo. Just beautiful! This particular is .90 carats for $1,200 🙂

Thanks much!! I think they have a cool architectural look.
Aw, thank you! I’m really happy the wait is over!
I got my ring already (pics up top!), but these are just beautiful. So sparkly! Thanks for the passing the link along.
