where did you get your hoop from?

I had a custom-made hoop skirt based on a pattern from the 1860s plus frilled cotton petticoats over. Think of Scarlett O’Hara in the pre-barbecue scene in Gone with the Wind (but with a more colourful corset).

I went with the advice of another bee and got this one: http://www.knotthegroom.com/ladies-wedding-undergarments/laurel-bridal-slip.html (I bought mine preowned from another bride but same exact one)

Yay for big dresses! I adore them 🙂
I’ve always been a big fan of your dress. It’s definitely not for everyone but you look absolutely regal in it. Fit for a queen!
What a fantastic dress! The back is to die for. Would you mind sharing what it’s called and who the designer is?

Hi there, thanks for the compliment.. anyway, I only wore a petticoat underneath.. the tulle on the skirt already made the dress poofy. =)
I combined designs for this dress.. I had my aunt made it for me.. but the back is a signature design of a well-known designer in the Philippines.. Her name is Veluz. Here’s a link on pinterest.. Her dresses are to die for. =)

Your aunt did a tremendous job on your dress! She must be a professional tailor, and a very talented one too!
Thanks for the link, you’re absolutely right, those dresses are to die for! 🙂
