34F here. I was initially very much opposed to sweetheart necklines, as they always made brides’ busts look bigger on SYTTD. But I realize they must have been dealing with far larger busts than mine, because I found a minimal sweetheart to actually downplay my cleavage. Once my dress is tailored, I’m hoping it will lay quite flat, so as to hide any potential cleavage altogether.

36DD here. I opted for a silk shantung Romona Keveza trumpet/mermaid gown-strapless and with a sweetheart neckline. What was most important to me, is that we ordered the dress with D cups rather than ordering a huge dress and it having B cups and becoming an altering nightmare. I went bra-less and because it was altered to perfection, it was great for most of the night. It ended up stretching out somewhat and was loose by the end of the reception, but I think that’s unavoidable.

32G here. I was shocked at the style that was most flattering. I thought originally I would end up with a mermaid or sheath. I tried on both and hated how HUGE they made my bust look. A line in the end was the best look to balance out my bust and emphasize my waist. I tried on my dress braless but it had some boning support. My strapless bra did not fit underneath with a low back. I’m planning on having cups from a 30HH UK bra sewn in. By the way, I ended up with the Penelope dress from Watters. Lots of non-busty reviewers complained that you have to have a huge chest to fill it out, so for busty gals it is perfect!

I ordered a dress yesterday but we shall see how it looks in person, it has a slight sweetheart neckline and lace capped sleeves with a chiffon sheath/a-line shape. I’m a 38H and I’m hoping to find a strapless bra or bustier to work with it! All I know from regular clothing is that high necklines actually make me look much bustier, than showing a little bit of skin. I think it kind of visually breaks it up or something.

32DDD here. I was adamant that I DID NOT want a strapless dress for my wedding. They never fit right and I’m constantly pulling them up. Well…guess what I bought? A strapless dress. I felt so secure in it, it was wonderful! Don’t even need a bra!

I also though I’d look good in a mermaid or trumpet style gown. Boy was I wrong. Those styles just made my curves look even bigger, not in a good way. So I’m wearing a beautiful a-line gown. It helps my curves stand out in the right ways and makes my waist look nice and tiny 🙂

AshleyK1225:  Yes, it was super fitted and very well constructed. Here’s a pic:

This is early in the day, when the dress was still really fitted (maybe 4:00ish). The 2nd pic is at the end of the night..around 10:30ish. It’s looser but was still good, and there was no way a bra would have fit in the dress earlier in the day.

I have a high neckline dress to be used for pre wedding pics.. It didn’t fit right at the neckline/bust area even if I sent it to the seamstress twice. So I decided to cut off the tulle neckline and ended up with a sweetheart strapless dress. It looked so much better on my petite frame.

32G, didn’t want a strapless either, but they are so common, it was hard to avoid!

I did NOT want cleavage in church at all, and my dress was kind of crumb catcher style. It all worked out except when I bent over, which was fine. There was a ton of structure inside the dress, and I didn’t wear a bra! Woo hoo! My dress was by La Sposa.

OP, I’m similarly proportioned (34DD and a size 4) and though I haven’t purchased a dress yet, I’ve found both strapless and v-neck mermaid/sheaths to be the most flattering on my shape. I’m going to make sure that cups can be sewn in and that the bust fits properly, but at my last appointment, I was told that that shouldn’t be a problem.

I wear a 32F and had no issues with my dress staying up. The designer had to open the cup for me to ensure a good fit but it wasn’t problem. I got a great strapless bra at Nordstrom and was actually quite comfortable all night… no tugging or anything!
