I am a street size 8 with a 34 DDD chest, and I had a lot of concerns about finding a dress I loved that would also be doable since I am a bride that needs a bra, and a REAL bra.

And then I fell in love with this dress and completely forgot to care about the bra situation:

A v-neck front with a beautiful low back … the busty girl’s nightmare. These photos are from when I picked up the dress and the girls are just not working.

Luckily, I found a great seamstress. She had me buy a new bra in a supportive style that I already know and trust and she’s sewing it into the dress — it’ll have all the straps and support I need.

You’re pretty much the same as me 🙂 I was VERY nervous about the fact that my Pronovias dress had a built in bra. I was so certain it wouldn’t contain my girls but actually, with the correct alterations and tailoring, it was perfect! I felt very secure and contained 😉

Get some good undergarments! I used to work at a high end undergarment store and fit designer bride referrals. I’m not sure where you can go in NC, but you need to be fitted. The right undergarments will make you look longer, slimmer, younger etc. And you may just need to go down a band size and up a cup size. Look for places that carry Va Bien or Dominique.

I am a street size 10/12 and vary between 34G and 36DDD.  I was worried about my girls during dress shopping as well but I found that the most complemenatry gowns to my body shape had to have sweetheart neckline with a sturdy waistline.  I’m able to wear a strapless bra and it gives me just enough support.  Hope that helps!

I’m a 38G and I have a Freya strapless bra that holds my girls like no one’s business. That being said, when I got married the first time, the seamstress sewed in a longline bra, and I wasn’t in the least worried about coming out of that dress.  Definitely see if there’s a way that you can get your bra sewn in.

@yellowducky1982:  The Pronovias dresses (I have experience with a grand total of 2, mine and my friend’s) have these thick straps (like at the back of our normal bras) that hook around your back and hold that part of you in. Ingenius.

I love my gown and I knew from the start I would not be going strapless. The top of this dress supports the girls with no bra and no sewn in cups. For reference I’m a 38d in a bra.

I’m a street size 10, I got my dress in a 14, I’m a 36 Dirty Delete (although I’m starting to suspect I’m a DDD now, but I’m still in denial) and they had to let the chest out a little bit in the dress.  I am surprised, but I actually feel comfortable enough to not wear a bra with my dress, even though I thought for sure I would want to wear a bra.

@Wellington Bride:  Wow!

That dress gives you gorgeous boobs! Well, I’m sure your boobs are gorgeous anyway, but it makes them extra special!
