- Wedding: May 2013
SO and I are unofficially engaged, been looking at venues, getting an idea of costs, etc.
Here’s the problem we’re having making a decision: We’ve both always kind of imagined a fall wedding. We began dating in the fall, love the colors for outdoor photos, etc…there’s always just a nostalgia in the air when September rolls around. We just kind of assumed we were planning for a 9/2013 wedding here.
But SO is a high school teacher now. That throws our wedding into the most chaotic time for the year for him, and pretty much takes the honeymoon into “whenever we get time off…” when we’d obviously prefer to escape shortly after the wedding.
This means late May 2013 would be best for our circumstances. Gosh darnit, it’s just so rainy in May in Michigan! The leaves aren’t changing colors! We won’t have the extra money from those extra 3 months! (waiting until May 2014 is out of the question, haha)
I know this isn’t a big deal…our wedding date will become special on its own, yada yada…but how do I wrap my head around changing the mental image that’s been in my head for so many years?
Anyone with input that might help? 🙂
