Tomorrow, my Aunt is gowing through her first phase of organizing, donating and throwing stuff away. My Aunt is a compulsive hoarder. She has been for 29 years. Recently, she admitted this and asked for professional help. Most of us had no idea she was a hoarder. She never married, had no children and we’d (family) never been to her house. This is a big step for her. Wish her luck. It’s gonna be hard for her and I wanna help her in any way I can.

Things are looking up for my Aunt. She’s cleared out 50 boxes (donations and to give to family and friends) and 2 truckloads (stuff to throw out). It was really hard for her. Her emotional state at the time was quite fragile and it was very hard for her to see her stuff go. She had her moments, but managed through it all. I’m very proud of her. It will be a long road ahead for her and hopefully she can continue to get better and work on her habits and whatnot.
