ive been perusing wedding bee since i got engaged in february. i absolutely love seeing the different ideas everyone has for decor/centerpieces, etc. my problem is, im going to be having a big wedding, and i want my wedding to look lavish, but without going over our budget of 25k. we will be having about 800 guests. so.. i need some ideas of centerpieces that look full, but wont leave me in the hole monetarily.

What are your colors?
things you like
things you hate
this will give folks a jumping off point 🙂

not knowing your theme, colors, or venue…
ostrich feather plumes. koala wholesale has 80-100 plumes for $299.
or i’ve seen those big branches, maybe curly willow, either all one color or with a few flowers attached.
or something like this. it’s not quite as high or full but i like it.
look on craigslist, especially around this time when it’s weddign season. a lot of brides will want to sell stuff afterwards. i scored 24 silver candlesticks and a candelabra from craigslist for $80 and it’s very nice quality. i’m thinking about having the florist arrange red rose poms to place on top of each.

What about doing baby’s breath? Especially the 2nd photo here–with crystals added? More here:

Where do you live? That impacts budget a lot.
Where I live, 35k covers about 150-200 guests modestly…

800 guest on 25K holy smokes wont that eat just the food and venue budget ??
Flowers are definitly out but you could find lanterns and candles on wholesale websites, which would be really easy for set up. But without knowing your theme it would be hard to help. If you are set on flowers you could grow your own which really inexpensive and I think is nice because you really put yourself into the wedding and not only are they great centrepieces your guests could take them home as favors and plant them when they get home. Or go with freeze dried petals. Feathers is another great alternative and alot of places will let you rent your centrepieces which really helps the budget.
Some great websites
