Do you equate thinness/size with beauty, OP? If so, why? This is the second or third thread I’ve seen in as many days that said something along the lines of a bride worrying that she won’t be beautiful on her wedding day because she’s not a certain weight.
My one and only attendant is 6 inches shorter than me and about 100 pounds lighter than me (no lie). If you remind me, I’ll PM you a picture of the two of us. Straight up comedy. But…she isn’t more beautiful than I am. And this will be especially true on my actual wedding day when I’ll obviously be the most beautiful woman in the world. I’m sure the same is true for you as well.

I’m in the same boat. i’m 14 – 16 currently and my bridesmaids are 2, 6, 8 and gorgeous
i’ve been having the same thoughts as you. i found my girls really nice dresses and think they will look stunning on the beach.
reading the above posts helped to put it into perspective. we are the only ones wearing the gorgeous white dresses!

I can promise you, that NO MATTER your size, or your BMs sizes… YOU will be the beautiful one! All eyes are going to be on YOU!

@Nferrari: Aww *hugs* I totally get it. I’m the fat chick in a sea of less-fat chicks.
On your wedding day, you will be glowing and radiant and people will be remarking on how beautiful everyone looks, not how you have a little bit extra arm fat. I totally understand, but remember, your fiance is marrying you because he loves you. Every inch of you. I’m happy you are normally comfortable in your own skin. Tell your family to stop pushing you, that’s completely out of line.
To lighten the mood, one of my BMs who was already smaller lost about 30lbs on a crash diet in the past few months. Me and one of my other BMs who is closest to my size are ready to KILL her for making us look even fatter by comparison!

@Nferrari: first and foremost size has nothing to do with how great you look. When those curves and boobs are appropriately flaunted you can easily find yourself being the prettiest.
However as someone who has slimmed down for the wedding, I really do recommend it. I feel great, I have more energy, im proud of myself and more confident. However if youre going to do it do it for you

I’m shorter and fatter than mine too. My comfort is that my Fiance loves all of me and asked me to marry him so I’m all good and with my recent health set backs, for me it isn’t about competing with my girls, it’s about being the healthiest version of myself I can be.

@Nferrari: Ugh…I am you. Same height and pretty much same weight (althought somehow you look better than me, haha!) I am standing up in a wedding in August and everyone is freaking TINY! The first dress I ever tried on could not get over my butt/thighs….COOL!
All of the attention will be on you and no one will be looking at your Bridesmaid or Best Man…trust me!

My wedding dress was a size 18. My (only) bridesmaid’s dress was a size 10 (8?). She’s close to my height (I’m 5’8″, I think she’s 5’7″). No one was looking at her except maybe her husband, who’s my brother.

@Nferrari: i am 5f8i and weight 195 and am also the largest bridesmaid. i am a size 14. you weigh less than me and I know what I look like at 175….and its amazing 😀 so, you are hot lady! just because you are the largest doesnt mean you are not good looking. Work what you got girl!!!!!!!!

175 and 5’8″ sounds sexy. Maybe you’re just built more heavily than your bridesmaids, and there’s no harm in that. I’m also 5’8″, and there’s just no way I’ll ever be able to compete with some of the 5-footers I know who are barely past 100 pounds. They’re built lightly. Not me. And there’s nothing wrong with that. We’re all attractive in different ways- I’m sure some folks probably do look at them and think they look better. Others may be undecided. Others may prefer my body type.
The same is true for you.

My wedding dress is a size 12 and I am NOT having bridesmaids so I won’t be compared. It was one of several reasons for not torturing myself with all that…good luck to you. Remember, to your FH, you are the most beautiful woman he has ever seen! xoxo

I’m a size 14 with dark hair, and my BMs are a size 2 and 6 with blonde hair. I liked the contrast that it gave, I stood out even more in photos, hah.
You are the bride and you are beautiful. No one will be comparing you to your BMs.

I hadn’t really thought of it before, but my bridesmaids (actually I have 2 maids of honor & no bridesmaids, to be exact) are both smaller than me. But we are built much differently.
The truth is that on your wedding day you will be the one in white & the whole who steals the show. Not to mention it’s not as though your weight sounds very large at all.
If you want a small bit of motivation, I went from 148lbs to 131lbs (5’4) in about 3 months with fairly minimal work, just some rough guestimated calorie counting. I’m not saying that you won’t look stunning the way you are, but if you genuinely want to see a change, you can definitely do it.
If it makes you feel better, one of my bridesmaids is model crazy beautiful (they are both beautiful though) & I am just the tinest bit scared that she will outshine me, but I know in my heart that I’ll be the bell of the ball for this one day. On her day I will fall back & totally commit to looking lackluster.

@Nferrari: my friends sister is getting married and the place where they got all of the dresses actally said to her “i never had a wedding where all of the bridesmaids had to have their dresses taken in and the bride had to have hers let out”
If you are comfortable, you will be beautiful.
Confidence is the most important thing a woman puts on.

@Nferrari: Its simple, diet and excersize. I’m sorry to sound harsh, but unless you have a health problem that makes you heavy, you have only yourself to blame. stop feeling sorry for yourself and take control of your body. I did this and lost 12lbs in less than a month. and now I’m at my ideal weight.
