@Heidibrooke:  yeah, none of them are outstandingly different…I just think you might get more coverage from something a little less elongated (and I’m biased because my preference is a little chubbier of an oval, I love the I). And I think you have plenty of wiggle room with the clarity (unless you’re pumped about IF–sounds like you’re with me and you don’t care) so you might get some more size. I’m not really sure what your budget it so I guessed.

The thing is, if you love the G you have and the cut/proportions, I think it’s a great choice. I don’t think you should feel like you have to go bigger, unless you find another you love more. But at the same time, you’re second guessing it so maybe you don’t love it…? I think you need to talk to JA and see what they say, because you might find your goldilocks stone that’s a little bigger than the current G but without sacrificing color so much.

Edit: okay, I don’t know how you feel about other vendors or if you’re set on JA, but I just checked out GOG for the heck of it and I love this one:

It might be over your budget though…idk.

@Heidibrooke:  yeah idk about SI2 from IF for such a small difference, especially because you like the G color as is. I was just thinking a less eloated oval might look bigger but if that’s the proportions you like, it’s probably not worth it.

    How about the GOG one?

@Heidibrooke:  oh yes, they give all kinds of info! They don’t have many ovals it looks like…there was a 1.1 G SI1 I think, but the l/w ratio was like 1.3 so I didn’t think you would want it. They will source other stones for you from what I understand!

@Heidibrooke:  I think potentially adding a halo, if possible- is a perfect idea!  I know some settings will allow an addition of one, some won’t- you’d need a new setting.  And actually- I don’t even know if it’s just that some settings can do it- maybe some jewlers.  I just saw one of my mom’s friend’s rings- she added a halo to original setting and it worked well!!

I am not a halo person…but whatever you do, wait.  You seem unsure still and talking it out is great… but before you do anything, just sleep on it some more.  You CAN add a halo to an exististing setting, btw, but I would try some one first and make sure you like halos.

@Heidibrooke:  Nooo, no halo! I love your oval solitaire. I like the shape and the facets of the larger stone, but it is a touch yellow. The stone you have is gorgeous
