My shoes and our flowers. I doubt the amount we paid for either would be considered a splurge to most other brides but considering we were never going to have fresh flowers and now we are and the shoes are over $100, it’s a big deal for me.
I’m happy with our decision with the flowers but regretting the shoes since, although they fit when I first bought them, they are now too small.

Photography is the biggest splurge for us.. we really wanted photos to remember our day.
Food/alcohol are a close second.

@loveinthelibrary: I would say our venue (ceremony and reception) was the big splurge. Since we are having a smallish wedding (prox 74 guests incl. wedding party) we thought it wouldn’t be as expensive but then i fell in love with a more expensive location… 🙂

The thing we’re spending the most money on is the catering, and I’m very happy about it and wouldn’t change it because our caterer is awesome and I know my people love to eat!

@Nikkimcq: I did the same, budgeted for ~$1000 and payed $2200
. I do feel guilty about it but I have never seen a dress like it (IRL and the bee) and I love it!
My most expensive item is the photographer but she is definitely worth the price.

Catering! Spent half the budget! But I figure it’s the only thing that truly EVERYONE gets to enjoy
