Bikini line…what's normal and what's not.

linnoix :  First of all, there is nothing weird about what you’ve described with your bikini line.  The reality is that everyone is different.  Some people have sparse whispy pubic hair and some have thicker.  Some have it more contained into a small space right up front, some have it extend to their inner thigh, around the labia, and but crack.

Variation is NORMAL.  Just the same way that some people have leg hair all the way up the thigh and others have it only on the lower leg.

I have a situation down there that sounds similar to yours.  I can’t wear a bikini bottom without waxing or shaving.  I have two solutions to this:

1) I get a regular bikini wax.  Shaving just does not work for me.  I get bad razor burn and the results only last a day.  Of course the problem with waxing is that you spend a week or two hair free and then a few weeks with hair showing again.  So…

2) Second solution is that I try to get my hands on some bikini bottoms that are more of a “shorts” cut.  This gives me the option to just throw them on without any care of grooming in that area.

winterbride1717 :  I wish this were true for me!  I’ve been waxing for about 12 years not and there has been no notable change in the thickness or texture.  I guess it’s good that my folicles are reslilient to stress?

I never really thought about hair there, so sounds like I’m pretty lucky to just have the front triangle patch that is well within the biniki line and just a few strands below that around the bits.  My inner thighs and bikini line is compelely smooth.  But I do have fine hairs on my upper thighs that I need to wax in addition to my lower legs.

linnoix : I second pix00 about IPL. Got mine (Philips Lumea) about 3 or 4 years ago and hands down the best thing I’ve ever bought. Used to have dark hair the entire lengths of my legs and a little amount of overflow from the bikini area. Now it’s what I’d consider ‘normal’ – much thinner and lighter. I did my arm pits too and I get about 5-10 light hairs max growing there now… only shave once a month or when I bother to check! Used to either epilate (lasted about 5 days) or shave (twice a day) so it literally changed my life. Haven’t actually used it for about half a year cos I’m lazy and it’s winter but what’s growing really isn’t enough to bother me now.

I will do an over share my hair only grows about half an inch outside the swimwear zone and didn’t at all until I got my first wax (so that was a bad idea) however I get the most ridiculously thick hair in my egh not a nice way to say this my ass crack. It grows at the same speed and to the same length as everywhere else! We all grow hair in different ways and different places so don’t worry about what you have. I’ve recently got hair on my cheeks and chin being pregnant that’s been awful!

linnoix :  It’s definitely much more than anyone I know or have seen – including when I was at an all girls college! But I don’t think it is abnormal in a bad way. I would invest in a Phillips laser removal ‘gun’ and shoot it away. It works best when there is a big difference between your hair and skin colour – the lighter the skin and darker the hair the better.

Yep. It is the Philips Lumea I was also reffering to and warmly recommending.

I wasn’t sure if I was allowed to name products here though..

linnoix :  Hell, yes, my hair would show if I wore those bikini bottoms from Target! That’s completely normal, don’t worry. Whatever you want to do about body hair — shave, wax, or just leave it is fine.

sweatergal007 :  My hair grows very quickly, although waxing for many years has thinned it out considerably. If I were being very vigilent I could probably wax every 4-6 weeks.

Everyone is different, there’s no normal. My hair stops at the bikini line but then I have these random sparse but dark and long hairs that grow on my inner thighs, which totally annoys me because my thighs rub together so if I shave it, it just gets irritated.

It’s normal. Mine does not stop at my bikini lie.

I have it too! My swimming solution is boyshort style bottoms.
