linnoix :  No, I’ve never had reason to suspect that i have PCOS or a hormonal imbalance.  It’s truely normal for your hair to not just stop where a bikini stops.  That’s why bikini waxes were invented.

There are actually a few other threads about this same “issue.” Many bees, including myself, have noticeable bikini-line hair extending farther down our thighs than we’d like. (Also, most of us seem to have Irish/English/Scottish origins, so I’m not sure if it’s just genetic from that region?)

I’ve thought about getting laser hair removal, but Fiance thinks that’s excessive…and I realized why should I care? The only time it ever bothers me is when I’m in a bathing suit, but I’m looking for one that might “hide” it a little more, so I can wear that one when my hair is noticeable but too short to cut without razor-burn.

linnoix :  I have a menstrual disorder called PMDD, but it doesn’t cause a hormonal imbalance or affect hair growth (at least it’s not a known symptom). So yeah, it’s just the way my hair grows.

I’ve had pap smears with out shaving first. Gynos have never said anything.

Oh, and I’m also of Irish decent. Got that red hair growing down my leg and peeking out of my bikini bottoms. 😂

ecampbell :  I wear this style of boyshort swim bottom. I have one in black and one in pink, and then I just buy bikini tops accordingy that match. As long as I trim first, it’s fine. And I agree, it’s not worth worrying about! Literally the only time it matters is when I’m swimming. And anyway, my butt looks way better in boyshorts than it does in regular ones anyway!

And I also have a skirt one like this.

lovelyruby :  I love these! Plus, my Fiance thinks boyshorts are the sexiest underwear/swimwear bottom (he really dislikes thongs, which is fine with me!), so I think he’d love these too! 🙂 Where did you get them??

linnoix :  I have not been diagnosed with hormonal imbalance and have no reason to suspect that I have it. I think our imagine of what is normal is skewed by TV and magazines which are filled with women who have shaved, waxed, and have been airbrushed. I second the shorts pp recommended.  I refuse to conform to a false image. If you feel uncomfortable,  the shorts are a nice and easy cover. If you’re still worried about your health,  talk to your doctor.
