Okay bees. I always said I would get a bikini wax for my honeymoon. What do you think ? i have never gotten one before. Is it worth the pain?
I currently shave my bikini area. It’s ok but not as smooth as I would like. I get razor bumps sometimes and I think thats unatractive come swim suit season.
I get my eyebrows waxed, and I must admit that I love the finished product but it hurts pretty bad.
what to do?

@Mrs McCain 2012: I think that eyebrow waxing hurts way more than bikini waxing. I am all for bikini waxes. Plus I think after the initial irritation it is way less uncomfortable. The itchy growing back feeling after shaving the area is what I hate.

If you do decide to get a bikini wax I recommend going to the European waxing center or some other place like that. Do not just do at a nail salon. I had been getting a wax where I would get my nails done (I thought it was very painful). Then I tried the waxing center and it was so much better and better results. They have a bunch of locations. http://www.waxcenter.com/

@blue44: I totally agree its all about the quality of the person doing the waxing. It can be incredibly painful if done poorly. Read reviews and find a spa or somewhere that is good at it. Don’t trust just anyone with anything revolving around lady parts 🙂

I LOVE bikini waxes! I can’t afford to do it all the time, otherwise I would! I got one before our honeymoon and it was great–no bumps, not itchy, didn’t grow back until after we got home.

I am very, very sensitive and I will say it’s 100% worth it. Just do it at least a day or two before so the redness and possible swelling can go down.

Do it!! Like a PP before me, I find that eyebrow waxing hurts more than a bikini wax. Just make sure that you find a place that does not double sip their sticks! The hot wax can be a breeding ground for bacteria and if the sticks are double dipped, that means that the wax could be cross-contiminated with any germs from the client before you. And who knows that they were getting waxed!

I’m glad you posted this. One of my bridesmaids just bought me a gift certificate for a bikini wax & I’m terrified! lol I’ve never done it & i wasn’t sure if the pain was worth it. After reading the comments I guess I’ll go through with it. Thanks Bees

I only get my bikini line waxed (too chicken to go for the full-on Brazillian!!), but I LOVELOVELOVE it! Heck, go full-leg while you’re at it; your honeymoon is a once-in-a-lifetime thing.

Thanks bees! You have fully convinced me to dive in and get a bikini wax. I am going to definitely go to a nice european spa to get it done because that area is surely nothing to play with. lol.
@ RoundSolitaire Thanks for the heads up on double dipping! I will definitely inquire about that before I go.
Has anyone done Brazillian?

Brazilian is the way to go! You’ll never want to go back to bikini waxes or shaving. Amazing smoothness! The one thing that bugs me about waxing is the time you have to wait in between waxes. Your hair needs to grow out to a certain length (at least 1/4″) in order for it to be waxed. I hate that part.

I do brazilian every time I go in. For me, why show a stranger my lady parts for just a trim? May as well have them take it all off while they’re at it. 🙂 Honestly, TV makes the pain seem worse than it really is. You won’t regret it. And, an added bonus, the more consistant you are with waxing your hair doesn’t grow in nearly as thick.

I say go for it! I started waxing and couldn’t be happier, totally worth the little bit of pain (and it gets less painful each time).

How much of my lady parts do they see when I go in for a bikini wax ?

It’s really not that bad at all. People make it out to be way worse than it actually is. I’ve been getting brazilians for years now, and it really doesn’t phase me anymore. Totally worth it!
If you’re just getting a bikini wax, they don’t see that much. If you’re going brazilian, they’ll see just about as much as your gyno! 🙂
