Should I get a bikini wax so close to my wedding (this saturday) I have never had one and I don’t know what my skin reaction would be. I really would rather not be uncomfortable.
Thoughts? Suggestions?

Is your skin normally senstive (to new products, to sunlight, etc.)? If so, I wouldn’t do it. If not, it might be worth it if you do it ASAP at a reputable, recommended place. If you don’t have a reputable, recommended place lined up and/or your skin is often sensitive, then I wouldn’t risk it.
(The waxer’s skill has a *lot* to do with how badly my skin reacts, I find.)
Tough one: if you have sensitive skin, NO. If you have a very reputable place and you don’t have sensitive skin, go for it. But I can’t stress going to a reputable place/waxer enough–I went to a reputable place to get my eyebrows waxed, but the waxer I normally go to was booked so I went with one of the new girls. Bad idea. I got a burn on my eyebrow four days before the wedding. Thankfully, it cleared up enough to be covered by makeup but I didn’t need that stress!
@occhiblu: I agree completely. The technician’s technique has everything to do with it.
I am an esthetician and have been waxing for over ten years. Their skill level, technique, the temperature of the wax and even type of wax makes the difference between a slightly uncomfortable experience and a painful one that leaves marks,
If you don’t know someone who can recommend a person/place for you. Check out Yelp or another sight where you can get reviews for places in your area. I would highly recommend going somewhere that uses hard wax (it’s wax that sets up on it’s own and peels off, no strips) it’s much gentler than soft (the strip kind).
I’m with everyone else on going to a reputable waxer. I only let one lady do my eyebrows and nether region. I tell her all the time that if she moves I need notice so we can move too! 🙂
If this is your first one, it will be more painful than the rest (because the hair follicles or roots or something are huge and not accustomed to being jerked out). I say go for it as long as you have a day to recover. The first day you lady parts will be super sensitive so wear a sundress and go commando. After that you should be fine!
