If you are going to the birthday party, yes definitely bring one! I wouldn’t go to a bday party & not bring a gift. As far as Christmas, maybe something small wouldn’t hurt.

Yes. If you are going to a birthday party, you should always get a gift.

Of course if you are planning to go to the birthday party, you should absolutely get a gift. It doesnt have to be anything huge, a Barbie or something will do just fine. As for Christmas, I would also include a gift especially if there are other children in the family you will be buying for.

Definitely yes on the bday party.  I would for Christmas as well, unless you have so many nieces and nephews that you can’t possibly get everyone something (like I understand not giving nieces and nephews gifts when there are looots of them or they’re teenager/adults).  But if these are the only children, then I would.  Doesn’t need to be expensive

Yes if you’re going to a birthday party you bring a gift, if you see them at Christmas bring a gift. In our families only the children get Christmas gifts.

I think I would get them Xmas gifts. Especially if you exchange gifts with Brother-In-Law and his girlfirend.  I would absolutely bring a gift to the birthday party.  It could be something small.

Think of the kid, the birthday girl, not the other family dynamics. Yes, you are going to her party. She gets a gift.

nellytfernando :  This is how we do it too, only because S/O is one of 6 and there are over a dozen nieces/nephews now. Once you add in siblings and spouses and parents it’s like 30 gifts just for his immediate family. We tried doing everyone for a while but no one can afford it anymore!!

broccoli2309 :  I have 8 siblings and my fiancee has 13 siblings, only parents, and grandparents and children, if a couple doesn’t have children then they get a gift
