I used to take it several years ago and don’t remember seeing any difference. My friend started to take it for hair growth, she has always hard very short hair and the REALLY BAD NEWS is that she started growing a beard. She was so frustrated and sad! My mom also took it and started seeing some facial hair growth as well. I see that some bees take if for hair/nail growth. Would you recommend it?
My hair is long and grows rapidly but my nails are very weak and break easily, I would like to take something for my nails and perhaps something to make my hair more shiny and healthy, not necessarily for it to grow as I would hate to see more hair on my legs and God Forbid face.

I love Biotin. I definitely saw stronger hair and believe it grew faster also have a bad haircut. My nails are also stronger than they were before. Have you tried the OPI nail strengthener applied directly to your nails? That seems to help, as does regular manis.
I have not had any experience with facial hair while taking Biotin! Also, prenatal vitamins are amazing!!!! Over the counter and they work wonders on brittle nails and weak hair!

I love biotin, I’ve never had any problems with facial hair from it. I take an oral supplement every morning.

I just started taking Biotin about a week ago. I think my nails feel stronger but I also gave my gel a break and really doubled up on my OPI nail envy.
I’m still waiting on the proposal (coming soon I hope!) so to keep my nails “ready” lol I’m using Dior nail glow along with my OPI protein nail Envy.
I even found a Sally Hansen whitening pen for the underneath white tips of my nails.
Definitely try the protein!

Have you tried Fish oils?? When I take them my hair and nails get so much healthier!!! I also just started taking a Vit. B complex with folic acid and biotin. Best bet to contact someone that can let you know if you need extra vit. and what your body is missing.

I’ve been taking 1000mg of Biotin everyday for almost two months to help grow in my overplucked eyebrows. I think it has helped with my brows and I’ve not noticed any other unwanted facial hair.

Both biotin and fish oil work wonders when taken correctly. I take both supplements. Biotin def helped strengthen my hair after my stylist botched (see: overprocessed) my hair color application and caused my hair to thin. Haven’t seen any negative effects.

Nothing can actually make your hair grow faster, just stronger. And Biotin is great for that! I have also noticed my usually brittle nails are super strong. No facial hair, that seems like an unfortunate side effect. Do they have dark hair? Because it might be hair that was already there but was super-fied by the Biotin.

Yes, they have dark hair and so do I, so I might be better off avoiding it.

I take biotin for 2 years. I don’t notice a difference. I do have the misfortune of some noticeable facial hair depending on what foundation/powder I use.
I have PCOS but I don’t want to rule out that is the cause

i take it and love it! No facial hair over here but have definitly noticed my hair falling out less and my nails grow like crazy! I actually have to trim them because they just dont break anymore. I take 5000mg a day with my multi vitamin which has a little.

I take biotin as an effort to strengthen and make it grow faster after I decided to get a pixie cut. I haven’t had any facial hair things go on, but my nails have definitely grown faster, as has my hair, and my hair feels a lot healthier – less crackly frizzy, more sleek and flexible. My daily vitamin has a little, and I take I believe 1000mg a day.
