I take a multi vitamin as well as vitamin d and vitamin a. I tried the biotin for a few days and broke out, then read that I needed to drink a lot of water. So far so good. I have been deep conditioning my hair and I don’t use heat on it very often. At the rate my hair grows though, I’d be lucky to gain an extra 3 inches by our wedding So I’m hoping for a miracle!

It works AWESOME for me. It even made my eyelashes and eyebrows grow. However, harier girlfriends also said they hated it because it made everything grow, including leg hair.

TBH I think Biotin only works if you have a healthy diet and take a multivitamin. It’s like those weight loss pills which say “use with diet and exercise.” You have to supplement the pill, if that makes sense. You can’t expect it to work on its own.

My doc told me to use it. I have celiac and part of that is a vitamin k deficiency. My hair is always long. I keep it down to the end of my tailbone normally and my hair does grow fast. But since I started the biotin, it’s growing like a weed and is now mid thigh length. Clearly I need a hair cut lol.

I take it everyday right now to try and grow my hair more for my wedding. Honestly, I’ve noticed basically no difference 🙁

Fingers crossed then. Will keep you updated. I’m fairly healthy otherwise and my hair is very healthy, but it has never grown super fast and I need that boost if I can. It is currently about two inches past my collar bone. Will let you all know how it goes…

Biotin made me break out with disgusting, painful pimples.
I have been regularly using mane ‘n tail herbal grow shampoo and conditioner, as well as a Dominican conditioning treatment that stimulates hair growth, Crecepelo. And I take Viviscal every month ($30/month). My hair is definitely getting longer. I’m growing it out for the wedding.

MsElle: I took it for a really long time and I don’t think it helped at all but I still wanted to keep taking it but I wanted one that didn’t contain soy so I found one at vitamin shoppe that had no soy and after 10 days I noticed my hair had grown SOOOO much. I have pictures to prove it. It was just crazy. My mom was shocked. It’s called Maxi-Hair plus by Country Life. They aren’t that expensive and it recommends taking 4 per day but that was just not going to happen so I just take two a day. One morning, one at night.
A sidenote….I think it was a combination of two vitamins I was taking at the time that really gave me growth. I was taking a joint and cartilage vitamin by Garden of Life called FYI which my Future Sister-In-Law swore made her hair grow and the maxi-hair. I had been taking FYI for a couple months and noticed some growth but nothing too drastic. Once I added the maxi-hair it seemed to grow like a weed and then once I ran out of FYI and was just taking maxi-hair it seemed the growth slowed a little.
Sorry for rambling but seriously those two vitamins made it grow practically overnight.

Some multivitamins contain Biotin already.
It did wonders for my nails and hair growth increased… everywhere. Finally decided the trade off wasn’t worth it!
