I just signed my mom and my SIL for a 6 month membership. I got the first one in the mail to give to them on Christmas – it’s legit. This month’s had a pretty big ahava hand lotion, some eye liner I had never heard of, new lip balm, no snag hair ties, a perfume sample and a few other goodies.The box isn’t huge, maybe 4x6x2, but it’s packaged cutely and smells good.

Honestly, I’m in love with it. I practically shop at Sephora for the free samples.

I get it every month. I’m so-so on it.  The first month was awful. I got stupid coasters, perfume, lip balm, a hair tie, and foot salve. I threw away the coasters. The hair tie is weird and I don’t like using it unless I have nothing else. Also wasn’t a fan of the lip balm.

This month I liked my box a lot better! I got the big ahava hand lotion, pink jouer lip gloss, some fun nail stickers (they’re like the sally hansen salon effects), hair serum treatment, and fashion tape (for clothes).

I don’t know how long I’ll stay a member. I was going to cancel if I got a crappy box this month, so we’ll see how next month goes. I may or may not cancel then.

@Miss Sunset: No, there are many different boxes that you can receive. Some boxes may have 1 or 2 things the same as other boxes. For example, you and I won’t get the same exact box every time. We might get one or two of the same samples though.

I want to do this soooooooo badly! I haven’t bit the bullet, since every penny counts right now, but like a PP, I shop sephora just to get the samples of products like $90 moisturizer and $30 makeup primer that I would never be able to try.  Maybe I’ll do it…

I just do mine monthly. Mine comes through USPS, and I get an email when it’s been shipped. They package it up really cute!

I’ve been eyeing this for awhile now, contemplating signing up. I’ve read a lot of reviews that have said that the first month’s box is awful, but gets better after that.  I just came across a new one that is launching in January called Beauty Army.  It’s the same concept, but you get to pick your samples for the next month.  It’s $12 a month.  I think I’m going to wait for that one.

@Miss Sunset:

I know!  I “liked ” them on FB and get tons of updates.  Can’t wait to be able to sign up for real to pick my samples.

I had a Birch Box subscription for 4 or 5 months, and just canceled. It wasn’t worth it to me, and I feel like the quality has gone down a lot since my first month.
