I originally thought I didn’t want any kind of veil, just a simple feather hair piece. But now I’m thinking I might want a bird cage veil for the ceremony, then just have a simpler hair piece for the reception and dance. My dress is alabaster ivory, so I’m not sure if a bird cage would work (I’ve only seen them in white). For reference, here’s my dress.
What do you think?
Also, show me your bird cage veils and/or feather hair pieces!

I had a bird cage in champagne. I say do a birdcage, but get one in a color closer to your dress.

@Glasgowbound: YOur veil and dress are gorgeous!
Good to know that I might be able to find a bird cage that isn’t shockingly white!

I got it on etsy (where I get everything). The shop where I got it has birdcages in all colors – purple, silver, gold, blue, brown, white, ivory, champagne, etc. She was good about sending samples too 🙂

I think with your dress you can definitely find something that would look great. I would also check out ETSY to see what you can find.

I had an ivory dress with an ivory birdcage veil. Etsy has tons of colors as previously mentioned, but if you’re crafty, you can just buy your own netting and DIY it.

I bought metallic gold French netting from Etsy and am making my own veil. It cost me under $5 with shipping!

Check out the pre-owned bridal web sites- recycledbride.com was where I found mine, and there were a number of off-white choices when I looked.
