Is it just me or is it that every time I turn on the tv, there is
Some lawsuit regarding birth control! I sopped taking the pill 1.5 years ago and am too scared to ever get back on it! What’re you doing for bc?

Ya, I know. I went off the pill once a few years ago though and my hormones went crazy. My skin broke out like it’s never broken out before, and my period was horrible. I think Fiance and I will TTC in about a year from now, and I’m terrified of letting my body get back to normal. I have noticed that my hair looks way thinner these days though, and I’m wondering if it’s from the BC. I’m on Yasmine.

I had tried so many versions of the pill and I felt like they all made me nauseous. So then I tried Nuvaring and I loved it except that I really felt moody and angry when I was on it. Now I’m about to start trying a differnet brand of the pill.

One vote for Nuvaring. I’ve been on pills and had an IUD for a while, but the ring is what works best for me.

I’ve been on Yaz for 6 years now – which is ALWAYS on TV. I’m not honestly all that phased by it, but fi is and every time he sees one of those commercials he tells me to go off it. I won’t be disappointed once I do go of it though, which I plan to do either shortly before or shortly after the wedding.

I used to be on Yaz, and it screwed me up royally.
It made my period better for sure, but it turned me into a complete psycho for the 8 months I was on it. My friends and family ALL definitely noticed the change, and it was all my poor now-FI could do to stand me. I was just angry and upset, all the time, at no one and everyone in particular all at the same time.
It doesn’t make everyone react that way, but after searching around on some forums, I know that I’m definitely not alone in this.
After that, a couple of years later I tried Orthotricyclin. I didn’t really have any problems with it except that after I few months I noticed I had suddenly put on 3-4 lbs (I’m 5’2″ and my weight hasn’t fluctuated more than a few lbs since I was about 16, so it was definitely noticeable to me), so I stopped taking it and the weight fell off on its own.
I haven’t been on anything for a couple of years, but I imagine in the next few months or so I should probably start on something.
I’ve never tried Mirena, but I’m considering it- I have a lot of friends who swear by it.

Hormonal birthcontrol makes me depressed, so I have a copper IUD. I really like it for the most part!
