I have recently switched to the patch and am liking the convenience. However, upon rereading the instructions it says to make sure to have protected sex every single time even though you are wearing a patch. Isn’t that the point of hormonal birth control though? So you don’t need a condom?

That warning is probably there because while the patch protects against pregnancy, it doesn’t protect you from STIs. Are you and your partner monogamous? If so then you probably don’t need to use a condom. If you’re unsure though you should ask the pharmacist or your doctor.
