My mirena IUD will be due for a new IUD this coming fall, and I am not sure that I want a new IUD, I get a lot of periods, and I find that it has caused a lot of weight gain as well (or so I think). I do love how convenient it is.
I am considering getting a nuvaring, especially because we’d like to have a baby within a few years. I’d love to hear about your experiences with nuvaring.

I used it and loved it. My periods were much lighter, and only have to remember it once a month.

jade31 : I didn’t like it and it slipped out a few times while we were having fun which was definitely not sexy. After that I would take it out before the act which took away from spontaneity.

I got pregnant while diligently and responsibly using Nuvaring. Miscarried at 10 weeks. I know there are a million factors that go into that, but I’ve been scared of Nuvaring ever since! I also started using NR immediately after having my Mirena IUD removed and used it for about a year.

I used to have one. It was pretty good, but I don’t think my insurance covered it at the time. I feel like i was pretty moody adjusting, but it was fine otherwise. It’s also nice since you can delay your period for a bit if you wanted to avoid something specific. So that was a nice option.

jade31 : I could never get the damn thing in place! My doc had me try it in the office and after 10 minutes of failing she tried for me and failed too lol. She said I was the first patient she ever had that it didn’t fit, but apparently it can happen.

I used the nuvaring for about a year and a half. It failed and I’m currently nursing my one month beautiful baby girl. Maybe you’ll have better luck than me using it 😉

I was on nuvaring for seven years, I’ve just stopped as we’re about to start TTC. I had no problems with mine other than a bit of dryness. In terms of my period symptoms, they were much more bearable on nuvaring than other hormones. And I liked that I only need to consider it every three weeks! I forgot it was there must of the time
