simpliamazing:  I told my now-fiance “no holidays and no jumbo-tron proposals please.”  (We are big sports fans and go to a lot of games, but I would have been mortified with a jumbo-tron proposal!)

He ended up proposing on the day after my birthday (two weeks ago).  I was fine with that because we got to celebrate the engagement separately from my birthday, and it was private and pretty unexpected. Technically I didn’t have a birthday proposal, but I had one pretty close to it, and I was okay with that.

My fiancé proposed on my birthday! I didn’t mind at all. I look at it as he wanted to do something special for my birthday, and what’s more special than asking me to be his wife (and getting a beautiful ring as a gift!)?

My SO did not propose to me on my birthday because I have made it clear to him prior that I don’t want any other special events (especially wedding related events) around my birthday. But that’s just me. I have heard some people get engaged or even get married on their birthdays though…either the bride’s or grooms. He ended up proposing to me on our 3rd dating anniversary, which was in April.

Fiance proposed to me during my birthday dinner at home with both of our immediate families present. While I had a weird feeling that day I didn’t know he was going to propose, I def had no idea he had purchased my ring already…but he did tell me to get my nails done (I like getting them done, so he said itd be his treat as my bday present), and later he was telling me to look nice for dinner (I mentioned I was feeling bumy and wasn’t planning on getting too done up).

I thought it was an amazing birthday present and I thought it was sweet that he wanted to share that moment with our families. AND he ended up letting in a few people in on the secret, so they had their cameras ready when he got on one knee 🙂

I joke with him and tell him that now I get to dump him and id get to keep the ring since it was a bday present lol

My fiancé proposed on the night of his birthday. I had planned a fun night out with some of our close friends and family and he told me he had got us a hotel room nearby to spend the night. I didn’t think anything of it since we like to get hotel rooms if we staying out late and not close to home. I had had known the proposal was coming soon so it was his way of being sneaky and making me think the special night out was for his birthday. It worked! I didn’t suspect a thing!

simpliamazing:  My birthday is friday too!!!!!!

I hope it happens but I’m not holding my breath because I am pretty sure it’s happening in Nov but my Girlfriend has thrown me off of a Nov proposal so…now I just think every special event is it.

But this year is my champagne birthday!!!! 28 on the 28th! My gf has told me she is asking me once I turn a specific age and on a specific date. So I wonder. I totally don’t think that getting engaged on one of our birthdays is horrible, I think it’s the best gift. However I would never get married on one of our birthdays.

Good luck girl!!!!! Go get your nails done, JUST incase and relax, get pampered. I’ll be getting my nails done too and sending you happily ever after thoughts!

I always made it very clear I didn’t want a proposal on a holiday or special event day that had nothing to do with us as a couple.

He did, and I kind of suggested it since I typically work nights but had requested my birthday night off so we could have a real date (those are few and far between on this schedule).  Best birthday present ever. No, I wasn’t surprised, but I still cried like a baby!

simpliamazing:  I just got engaged on my 25th birthday in May! I never ever ever would have wanted a birthday proposal, but I am absolutely not complaining!

It’s actually a huge joke with us because my Fiance was such a distant jerk the morning of my birthday, and I just STEWED with anger all day at him. It was all apart of his “elaborate ruse” in his words. He actually gave me random birthday gifts, and then later in the night gave me another gift which was a box filled with items with my new monogram on them. Next thing I knew, he was down on one knee with a GORGE ring!

my bday is Feb 17th, & for valentines we stayed at a hotel next to the mall of america and on a whim checked out a ring that caught my eye when we had passed it and the jewler wrote down the ring number for DH.. we were both like yeah you can do that trying to get a sale out of us but its not happening.. well 3 days later on my birthday it happened & i was so surprised he got the ring because i wasnt expecting it till out anniversay in Sept. & i never expected to get a dream ring such as the one i got! im so happy he caught me off guard, i love surprises and would have been disappointed if it happened on our anniversary. it also made it easier to tell family as i was seeing them that day.. It was an awesome day completely filled with happiness & i loved it!

birthdays come every year, so i wasnt disappointed at all.
