Mine didn’t, I didn’t expect it to but was hopeful. I am no where near disappointed she took me for a fancy dinner, so delicious!!! We saw the store she plans on getting my ring from and I joked about us going in before my birthday dinner and we ended up talking about how comfortable it is to shop at this store, how they don’t put pressure on you and she mentioned how every time she goes they are so nice and not pressing for her to make decisions or purchases. I questioned why she’s been there more than the time she got my diamond necklace and she got very flustered and told me “she just has been there a few times for reasons”. LOL. So sounds like she’s picked and started paying for my ring. I still think it will happen closer to Christmas or early in the new year.

My friend and her wife had a baby girl on my birthday instead! And THAT was a fabulous birthday gift!

My proposal was a complete surprise. I didn’t know he had the ring and didn’t know he was planning a proposal. He proposed 2 days after my birthday, which was wonderful. The only bad part about the timing was that he acted very secretive leading up to my birthday, but then on my birthday, didn’t give me a gift. So I was pretty annoyed and we got in a fight! Little did I know he was going to propose. 

If someone KNEW their proposal was coming, like knew their guy had a ring and everything, I’d say a birthday proposal would feel pretty predictable and unoriginal, especially if he’s waiting for a perfect time to propose.
