    I know you like yellow gold but I think it makes the amethyst look very dark.  I like the first one he got you but be careful since silver is so flexable and you might lose some stones over time.

    @KingsDaughter:  I vote for having a new one made in yellow gold. A thin tiffany setting with a genuine amethyst. YES! 🙂 Happy birthday btw!

    @KingsDaughter:  I like it in a rose gold setting.  I have one silver ring and I have warped it beyond belief.  It is no longer round at all, and the setting is making the stones lose, it is just the metal it is weaker, so yes, go with a gold it just holds up so much better.
