I used them and didn’t have problems with smearing, but maybe it is because you are using them on glass? We did ours on a chalkboard.

If it is chalk based, it will smear for as long as it’s wet. Once it dries, it can still be wiped off easily but it will not smear. We use Crafty Croc for our boards at work and haven’t had any problems.

Let it dry and then do a coat of hairspray over it…let that dry and you shouldn’t have any issues with smearing. Worked for me!

I’m not sure what you had in mind for the mirror but we are using customs vinyl for ours. I originally planned to write out our menu (huge gold framed mirror) using the gold chalk/paint markers but found someone local who can make us a custom vinyl sticker that we just transfer onto the glass (like a window vinyl). I just got way too intimidated by the scale of my mirror.

dearjohnbride :  Yours would definitely be a little more compicated than my simple menu lol. At least you have a back up plan that is just as gorgeous!

dearjohnbride :  Yes, it will wipe off eventually with some soap and water.
