hi bees ive been quiet on here for a bit due to a mini ttc breakdown after only 18 day cycle last month. Darling Husband and i decided it was best for me to take a step back and try to destress regarding the whole process. That was working for a bit and we have BD kind of EOD give or take here and there since a few days after my period finished. However now because i have no temps or opks to know if i did O i started to still go a little loopy wondering if timing was right or if AF would be a cow and mess me around this cycle. So i decided for my own sanity it was time to talk to my GP. Darling Husband and i are both 32 so kind of want to get the ball rolling asap.
She was so lovely, must have thought i was crazy being in tears about my irregular cycle since coming off BCP in decemeber. She advised we could do bloodwork and an ultrasound. Funnily enough she told me the blood test should be done on CD21, and can you beleive it that was the very next day, talk about perfect timing!! I think i would have gone crazy if i had to wait another cycle.
So here i am awaiting the test results for the blood, i have my ultrasound appointment on this coming wednesday. So hopefully Ill either get some answers or i guess i could also get told everything normal and to just keep trying. She did give me a referral to a Fertilty Specialist but said to hold off on that just until we see the results.
I guess technically i could be in the tww also but as i have no idea on O and my cycle has been as long at 40 days i could also still be waiting.
Are there any other bees out there that are just starting or have just done these tests?

off bcp since DEC and TTC for 5 cycles so far. She is testing levels of progesterone, testosterone, insulin, BSL and a few other abbrviations that I didnt write down. The ultrasound is for any abnormalities

Oh I know how it is bee. I have irregular cycles too. I can vary from 20 days to 40 days. Decided to see an OBGYN this week about it and nearly broke down crying. I’ve also had two chemical pregnancies in 9 months of trying. Every doctor is different. I was expecting blood work but he didn’t want to do it at this point. I’m trying Clomid next cycle just to regulate me and make my ovulation stronger. I was concerned about my irregularity and he told me that I’m actually normal. It would be a different story if I went months and months with no period. Anyway, keep us updated. 🙂

ive heard about clomid and was going to ask the doc about it as an option but when she suggested bloodwork i figured it was best to just start from there and see what it shows. i cant remember what my period was like before BC (16years) so its hard to say if i always had irregular or not which is what my doc was asking. She did say the same as your doc though that my periods arent concerning except maybe the one 18 day cycle last month which is why she wants the blood tests and ultrasound.
I feel weirdly relaxed about things now, i guess knowing that i have started the ball rolling is calming me down 🙂
sorry to hear about the two CPs that must have been terrible!! let me know how you go on clomid 🙂
