Ok so I have a new obsession
First, I was crazy about incorporating lace into every single aspect of our wedding, but seeing we’re having 500 guests (Yes, 500!) that became a little difficult to do.. to say the least… so the weddding planner advised that we stick to a colour scheme rather than a theme.
I am just in love with everything black, white and yellow! So I was gonna have my girls in yellow and white, then the groomsmen in black suits, but my SIL found this pic and I am now OBSESSING over black and white floral dresses!! So the plan is to add a yellow waist band, with yellow floral shoe clips to black heels, and yellow bouquets to really set it off.
Are you also inspired??
Ok so my girls are gonna be wearing the same print in the last two pics in these two styles from Dessy:
Maids of Honor:
I haven’t been able to view the Maid of Honor style in the print. Yall think it would work?? How could I add yellow to it?

Wow, that yellow, black and white looks fab! I never even thought of that combo until I saw those pics, and now I have them stashed away for further inspiration.
I’m not sure about the Maid/Matron of Honor dress to be honest. I think compared to the rest of the wedding party she’ll stick out. It just doesn’t really match.

Go for the pattern! It’s cute, fun, and I think it’d be perfect for your summer wedding. I would add yellow with accessories, bouquets, and/or jewelery.
By The Way – is the Maid/Matron of Honor wearing that dress you showed in picture? If so, I’m not sure it’ll go with the rest of the dresses. It’s more formal and elegant.

I love the black and white dresses! A yellow waistband will be nice. I think the yellow shoe clips will be overkill. I’m assuming you’re going to have yellow bouquets. If you do, you’ll probably end up with 3 different shades of yellow.
I’m confused about your Maid/Matron of Honor dress. I agree the green/blue dresses are much more formal than the black and white dresses. They don’t go together at all. If you want your Maid/Matron of Honor to stand out, how about putting her in the same dress with a different color waistband and maybe a different bouquet as well?

Thanks for the help ladies!
I was also thinking about this option for the maids of honor. Would this material and style blend in better than the material and style of the blue shown above?

I wouldn’t do two different large scale prints. It would be too busy for my taste.
If you can’t find a dress for the Maid/Matron of Honor in the same print, I would find a very small scale print or have her in solid black.
I think yellow flowers would be enough. They will start looking a little bumblebee-ish if you add hits of yellow in too many places.
I would do plain black shoes.

Before reading the rest of the posts, my first reaction was “I love the bottom print dresses in pic 3. I so hope OP chooses those”.
My personal opinion is that the Maid/Matron of Honor should be in the same length dress as the BM’s. To me, it looks off when it’s that different. Other than that, I love the colors!

Thanks for the responses everyone! Yall are great helps!

it looks great! i would skip the yellow sash if you’re going to do yellow flowers though…either do a black sash or none at all, because i think yellow flowers are going to blend into the sash. maybe do the sash for the reception only?

I love this! I never even thought about pattern for dresses, but that looks awesome. I agree with others- put Maid/Matron of Honor in same dress or a solid black dress. 2 prints would be a bad idea and the green dress ( even if it was black) doesn’t match.

Fantastic idea! I think the b&w pattern looks beautiful.
Are you saying that the BM’s will wear short dresses and the Maid/Matron of Honor will wear a long dress? I think that looks weird. I’d stick to the same dress for all of them, and maybe only add the yellow waistband to the Maid/Matron of Honor and just stick to yellow flowers for the rest.
I think it will get to be too matchy if you do yellow waistband, yellow shoe clips, yellow flowers, on all of them. Keep it simple.

@CallmeC Thanks! the prints are actually the same on both dresses but the Maid/Matron of Honor is longer and a different style. Yeh i’ve given up on the blue dress lol 🙂
@kala_way Thanks 🙂 I agree.. so much yellow would be overkill huh?!
@cardus It’s true, I hadn’t considered that the bouquets would blend into the sash.. thanks for that input
Ahh yall r giving me vision thanks!
