My girls wore black dresses, I let them choose their own. I kind of wish I had chosen the same dress for both but I don’t know if that would have been possible with their two body types. I love the dress in your pic especially with the purple flowers, so pretty.

@Bunni0929: Purple and black was my favourite combination when I was a teen as I thought it was shocking. Now i think it’s very strikingly elegant. It will look great. I think all black Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses look very classic when they’re the same length but in all different styles.

@Bunni0929:  I think black dresses add an elegant touch to a weddinf. Your girls will love you as it would be a dress that would actually get worn again.Given the different body types, you could pick the fabric and length and let them choose a dress from the designer you like.

These were the dresses my bridesmaids wore, except in black. The girls loved that they had pockets. They’re from David’s Bridal. The girls wore red shoes and had red bouquets.

These are my colors as well.  My girls are wearing black cocktail dresses (different style for each) with dark purple heels and pashmina wraps.  Their bouquets are also varying shades of purple.

My sister wanted us to wear black dresses and she let us all pick a different style. Her photographer suggested two things. 1) For everyone to wear the same fabric because it would look more uniformed and would photograph better and 2)Not to pick a really shiny fabric because it doesn’t photograph well. Sorry if the picture is big and/or blurry! I’m on the iPad and it’s a tad bit difficult. :p

All of my girls wore black dresses. They chose them on their own. The fabrics were mixed but it didn’t make much of a difference. Black doesn’t change too much on different fabrics like other colors can. I think just having the exact same color and same flowers is unifying enough.

I am choosing the fabric and color and getting them to choose the dress. You could specify length, fabric, color, designer to give it a bit more structure. A little black dress is a staple item so whatever you/they choose they can wear it anywhere.

I’ve worn a black bridesmaid dress before and the bride paired them with bright colorEd flowers. It popped really well.

Black didn’t make me want to wear the dress again, though! I’ve seen so few Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses that are truly re-wearable.
