I actually think grey is really lovely for bridesmaid dresses.

I love green too. However, I can see what you mean since I think I’d have trouble finding an acceptable shade too. I think a dark green is really nice but it also depends on the fabric.

Though, at the end of the day, if you want black…go with black! I’m sure it’ll look wonderful whatever you choose.

I don’t see what the problem is with the black dresses. I think they look very sophisticated and stunning and have NEVER heard a bridesmaid complain about having to wear black!! All the fun comes in with the accessories and flowers, etc. That’s where you can add in colors that you might have had trouble adding in before. You said you really liked green….. maybe black dresses with a green sash. I think the black dresses can be a great starting point!!!

StellaBride21:   I think any of those colors would be great. I was a Bridesmaid or Best Man in my besties wedding, and we all wore black. It looked great.

I wore a long black bridesmaid dress in my brother’s wwedding last September. It was awesome! I won’t show a pic since it wasn’t my wedding but I think we looked pretty good 🙂

I say go with black if that’s what you want!

Coming from someone putting them in ivory I say go black.  Here are a few pictures of black bridesmaids, how to add color if wanted, group shot or the gray option.

I would say go black, and then add the gree that you love with accessories, greens, ect! Or leave the in all black and go for a fancier look, since your dress is so pretty.

Yup, go with black. The black bm dress i had years ago was the best purchase I made and wore it to several other weddings as well. You can definitely add color in with accessories and flowers. Black is sophisticated and classic.

I am doing black bridesmaid dresses… I think black and white is extremely classy and timeless. When you look back on 10, 15, 20 years you won’t be thinking ughhh why did I pick that color… Just my personal opinion

My Fiance said absolutely no black bridesmaid dresses for our wedding. He’s a photographer and he said it’s too hard to get good exposure on black dresses, especially next to a wedding dress. Apparently it takes a lot of the photographer’s attention away from other things he could be doing. With the groomsmen is different because as long as their shirts aren’t black, the focus of the photo is elsewhere so black suits aren’t as big of a deal. Just something to keep in mind!

StellaBride21:  i think black looks really chic and sophisticated! can’t go wrong with black. gray is also a nice netural, but IMO i got a little tired of seeing gray bridesmaids dresses (seemed to explode as a trend a few years ago). green is nice, but i often find colored tones to look dated later on. go with the black!

My girls are wearing long black dresses and the guys are wearing silver/grey. All of my bridesmaids were happy because everyone looks nice in black.. I also agree that it looks very classy.
