I don’t have a black diamond engagement ring, but I think buying one off of Overstock wouldn’t be a bad idea. I have seen some gorgeous rings on Overstock for great prices and most of the rings have reviews. If you don’t like it, you could always return it.

My e-ring is black diamonds but from a smaller local place. I do have some black diamond jewelry from overstock that seems to be of good quality. A friend of mine also bought her FH’s wedding band from there as well. I definitely wouldn’t overlook them as an option.

@juliesprague: I was at my jewler’s today working on my setting and he showed me a giant black diamond (4 ct!) and a photo of that setting.  He was trying to talk the guy out of that setting because it’s just not stable for real life–it’s just attached at the bottom and when it catches on something, it’s going to go.  Also he wants to talk him into a black diamond halo instead of the white diamonds–the white diamonds will make the black diamond look smaller while black diamonds will make it look amazing.

As for the original question–my trusty local jewler would be where I would go.  Chains don’t usually carry anything like that but a local jewler may have one on hand or will definitely be able to order one for you.
