You have already seen mine but it has been a while since I have posted it with my band. I am sure it is buried deep in the posts.

marriedalready69:  I have a 2.5/3 ct (never actually went out of my way to measure it) black diamond ring in a crown setting. I wish I had a picture. I rarely ever wear it anymore since I got engaged. maybe I’ll post it when I get home, if I can remember haha

I have a black diamond panther ring that I wear, but I don’t care for it as a main stone.

I don’t mean this to be offensive, so please don’t take it that way. I just have no knowledge of black diamonds.

In terms of price, are they similar to the ‘white’ or colourless diamonds? Or are they cheaper? More expensive? And are black diamonds rated the same way (for clarity, etc)?

beachbumm105  check out the Anna Sheffield website.  There are two kinds of black diamonds, natural black diamonds and heat treated diamonds.  The heat treated diamonds are really a dark green but they are so dark that they appear black.  Black diamonds are black due to the inclusions in them so I don’t think there is a clarity grading.  Leibish sells fancy color diamonds including black.  You could check out prices there.  Black diamonds do sparkle but they need to be cleaned more often since the dark surface shows dust/dirt more than regular diamonds.

beachbumm105:  Much less expensive than colorless or near colorless diamonds. I just bought my best friend a black diamond pendant on an 18kt white gold chain. It’s very much her style.  I hope she likes it.

Overstock.com has heat treated black diamond jewelry.  The prices are a lot more reasonable and they have a wide selection to choose from.  The Anna Sheffield site is my inspiration.  I have been stalking ebay for a black diamond that I could set in a “Sheffield” style rosegold ring.
