Two of my girlfriends are throwing a bridal shower this weekend, and I was planning to wear a black dress. Now I’m wondering if this is not going to be appropriate & if I should try to find something else to wear…. What do you ladies think?
Here’s a pic of the dress I planned to wear

While black is always a good option, I would wear something a litte more bright and upbeat. Especially since it is July/August. I have a shower this Sunday and I am wering a flowered print cap sleeve dress with some fun peep toe heels. Maybe you could wear that to the rehearsal dinner?

@k8starz5: that’s what I was thinking. Off to shop for something else!
I acutally had a cuter, blue floral dress that I wore for my other shower, but the strap on it broke after the shower, so I took it back & got my money back. Guess I’ll put that toward the new dress & save this one for the honeymoon.

Do you know what the theme is? I think it depends on that. We did a breakfast at Tiffany’s shower for my sister, so black worked, but for other themes it may seem too dark.

I wore black to both of my showers. Granted, one was Sex and the City themed and it was a total “Charlotte” dress. But, the other one was at DH’s Aunt’s house and it was still ok.

I say wear whatever you want. It’s your shower, the dress is cute, and not every shower has a matchy matchy theme anyway.
