I think accorn is right…probably this carnation or similar photographed as a black and white.  The black tulips and black dahlias are beautiful though!  Best of luck.

I’m doing black and white too, with blue as an accent color, so any flowers I use will probably be blue…but I love the look of the black and white flowers!  Anemones are my favorite, but I think you should get a bunch of cheap white carnations and try to dye them, if they turn out well you’re golden, if not, keep looking for other options.  Good luck!

@julies1949: Ah, you posted a pic of my favorit tulips-Queen of the Night.  I actually brought some of the bulbs back from the Netherlands.  They are truly stunning in person.  Unfortunately, I had some very hungry squirrels who thought they were quite tasty Tongue out

if you put a bunch of white carnations in a vase with water and black dye, the dye creeps up the stems and will color the flowers in that marbley effect. haven’t done it in ages but i remember doing this for some reason or another in high school.

We are also doing black and white for our wedding colors and I love the idea of black tipped carnations!

@pb and j- I’m going to try that this weekend, awesome suggestion!

I think that the carnations and anemones are lovely.  The very black flowers may not work well against a black bridesmaid gown, but they would probably be lovely against a white wedding gown!
