I am so in love with dark colored stones! I’ve been drooling over some finds on Etsy. Post your dark lovelies!
Some that I love:

I love the low profile on this one:

The video of this salt and pepper galaxy diamond is amazing:

I’m not a diamond girl at all (Debeers inflation bs and all that) except for the imperfect salt and pepper ones, they’re gorgeous!

I agree with PP about not being into diamonds. I love colored stones of any kind. They seem to have so much character and can be chosen to match the wearer so well. My stone is an onyx. I love how the dark surface shines like water in the light.

bumblebug : I’ve admired your ring before. That’s quite lovely! Is it like a bow on the top? I love rings with ribbons or bows!

raccoona : That looks like the galaxy diamond in the video I posted! I bet it’s incredible when the light hits it. And a ring project, how fun!
Is this for a RHR or an ering? If it’s an ering, check out some of the salt and pepper rings on Etsy for inspiration. I love them in a 3 stone setting, contrasting with white stones especially.
I’d get creative with RHR and do a celestial setting or something to play up the starry sky look that diamond has (just throwing this out there, I realize it may not be your taste at all).

unicornwolf : thanks for the ideas! It is for a replacement e ring, i do love the look of the celestial setting as well. i have seen a few smaller soft pinks and grey salt and peppers that i also have my eye on (mine is 5.7mm). So maybe do some side stones as well. I feel like im trying to build the perfect ring but i have so meany ideas hahahaha
My diamond catches the light realy well and does give out some supper pretty flashes. The depth they have is amazing <3

These are greys and salt-peppers I have marked as favorites on Etsy.

Way too excited right now but I just got preliminary images back for my e-ring! I’m working with an independent jeweler after getting the stone for Christmas—it’s a 2.6 ct black spinel in an oval cut.

I would also suggest that any of you that love the salt and pepper look check out Point No Point and Gem Breakfast. So many pretty, imperfect stones.

unicornwolf : I love black diamonds. I’d love a grey one eventually too.

I’ve never seen one in real life, do black or salt and pepper diamonds shine as well?

Ivy & Rose has a few pretty ones up under their engagement ring section on their website. Really reasonably priced, too 🙂
