- Wedding: June 2011
With our wedding two months away, my fiance recently went tux shopping with his mother and sister-in-law. The colour scheme for our wedding is black and ivory–the bridesmaids have all purchased black dresses, and will be carrying white gerbera daisies with black centers and black ribbon; my bouquet is a mixture of white roses and white gerbera daisies, tied with black ribbon; our centerpieces are the same; all of the groomsment are wearing black tuxes. My fiance went out with the intention of buying a black tux, but apparently fell in love with a charcoal one with a striped grey tie. I have been very laid back during this whole process, and have pretty much let everyone do what they liked, but this strikes me as weird. The suit looks very out of place with all of the black and ivory (not to mention a little too casual for our very elaborate venue), and there is not a hint of grey anywhere else. Any ideas for making his beloved tux fit into the whole more smoothly, without ditching the beautiful black and ivory touches we’ve already agreed on? Or did anyone else have a black and white wedding with one outlying element?
