A bride should be able to wear any color shoe she wants. What’s your idea of the perfect shoe for your wedding day?

I wore different shoes for different portions of my wedding day. All the “shoe” photos – I used cute black and white wing-tips shoes.  For the ceremony, I wore champagne-colored shoes. And for the reception, I wore black shoes!  I gave myself a budget of $150.00 to spend on all the shoes and it worked out perfectly! 😉  If you feel pressure to make a “permanent decision” – just set a budget and buy a few shoes to play with throughout the day!

Here is a thread that deals with this very subject:

Whos wearing BLACK SHOES with there white dress?

I personally went back and forth about whether to dye my shoes a fun color (red, in my case), or simply choose a black shoes that I’d be guaranteed to wear again.  Ivory/white/etc shoes were not an option for me.  Although it’s definitely nontraditional, I decided to go with black shoes.  I just ordered them and they will be in within a week or so.  I can’t wait to wear them on the wedding day and I know it was the right choice for me.  And hey, maybe black shoes will be the hot new thing in a few years 🙂

I’ll be wearing black shoes with my Ivory dress. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the way it looks – I just had a fitting this past weekend and my seamstress was floored at how good it actually looked. I’ll be wearing Kate Spade Maggie in black.
