So, we went to mens warehouse this past weekend to look at tuxes. My fiance said he liked this charcoal grey vera wang tux. His best man (his brother) was with us as well and also liked it. I said ok at the time, because I really didn’t want to tell him what he had to wear at our wedding, I want him to feel comfortable. But in reality, I’m not sure I like the tux. I’ve found some pictures of it from someone else’s wedding, and it’s just not how I pictured him looking. I always pictured him in a classic black tux, and this will probably be the only chance I have to see him in one. He wears grey suits whenever we go somewhere fancy or to other weddings, so I feel like the grey tux won’t stand out or feel special.
Please help! I would love to see pictures of your groom and groomsmen in black or grey tuxedo’s. I have some pictures of the grey tux from mens warehouse, and some pictures of the classic black tux look. Would love some opinions!! Also, if anyone knows anywhere where you can actually try on the tuxes that would be great too! Thanks!

@Jshedrick84: What are your other colors? Are you concerned they’ll clash?
I think let him win this one, he and his brother liked them! And obviously your Fiance is comfy in grey!

I actually have the opposite problem– FH wants a “classic black tux” and I LOVE the grey tux at Men’s Wearhouse. I’m “letting” him wear what he wants to wear, because it’s pretty much the only thing he has a strong opinion about and I want him to be happy. If it’ll make your guy happy, you should let him wear the tux he likes. He will definitely still stand out in a grey tux. He’s THE groom! 🙂 So don’t worry about that.

@SilkieChicken: Im in this situation too! My Fiance loves the black Vera Wang and my colors are a very light blush pink. Im trying to talk him into the grey! We will see lol

My Fiance wants grey so he’s getting grey. I want him to feel good on our day! I can’t imagine my Fiance telling me I should wear a mermaid-style gown because that’s how he’s always pictured it when sheath is more my style, you know?

I think the grey looks very handsome too. Even though you feel he always wears grey and you have a wedding vision of him, I’m sure he has one too. It’s also his wedding so let him choose what he is most comfortable in unless it severely clashes with your colors.

My husband wanted grey so that’s what he got 🙂 We actually ended up buying him and his Dad suits because they are so hard to fit and then just had the GM/Ushers rent similar grey tuxes. I think it turned out great!

I had navy blue dresses for my girls and I did not want black and blue. I wanted a grey tux. And that is what we went with.
This is us. He had a lighter bow tie than the groomsmen. His vest was also silver instead of the same grey as the tux. Pewter/silver was one of our colors. He also is a huge bow tie fan, thus why we went with the striped one. Below is my bro and my MOHs you can see the grey with the blue and the darker vest and bow tie. I got a lot of compliments on the grey tuxes. Hope this helps.

We did grey! Actually, the ones in the first picture. The Vera wants we’re a nice contrast to my bridesmaids navy blue dresses!
What are your wedding colours?

Loving these suits , grey can be great depending on the time of year and shade.
Great ideas for men so I will pin it to a collection for grooms.

We are doing both, black & grey suits. To be fair, I have my 3 brothers as bridesmen, 2 birdesmaids & Fiance has 4 groomsmen. So my brothers wil be in black, and Fiance & his grommsmen will be in grey. The Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses are blue, so all of the men will be wearing blue shirts and I think the black, blue & grey will look great.

We did black, hubby did not want to wear any other colour, his exact words where he wants a james bond style tux 🙂 I think let your Fiance decide on what colour he wears, it’s more important that he feels comfortable in what he wearing. It’s his special day too remember 🙂

@Jshedrick84: Both look nice but I actually prefer the grey look. Especially for a summer wedding.
