So when I get married for the second time in two years I will be over 50 with three grown-up children. I have been looking at various dresses and happened to mention something to my mum today and OMG did she seem horrified that I would be considering wearing a WHITE dress!
It got me thinking and have been having a look at some made by the same designer as one of the wedding ones I tried – so what do you think?
This one is the one I really liked on me (it is a peachy type cream colour)
Then this is by the same make in black
Or black lace on nude background
Haven’t had chance to try these two on yet but imagine they will fit in much the same way!
Please let me know whether you think my mum is right to be shocked or do you think I should just do what I want and not be concerned if others are shocked?
Thank you lovely bees!

I think you should wear whatever you want, whether it’s white, black, peach, gold, pink, purple, RED!!
Don’t feel like you need to fit into a certain idea for your wedding, you should wear what makes you feel happy and beautiful!

Wear whatever you want. My mom was in her 40’s with almost adult children when she married my stepdad, and she wore an offwhite dress.

Do what you want! It’s your wedding.
However, I would suggest not wearing black, there are soooo many times in your life to wear black dresses, you should want to stand out and feel special in your wedding dress!

I say wear what you want. My mom wore white when she got married the second time and looked fabulous.

Aww thank you ladies! I must admit I was very concerned about what she said. Didn’t want to appear totally inappropriate but on the other hand as you say I can wear black anytime,
Well perhaps not to do the shopping etc but you know what I mean

It’s your wedding so wear what you like and what makes you comfortable. I think it’s acceptable and many top wedding dress designers, including Vera Wang, are embracing all colors including black.
However, to play Devil’s Advocate, Sarah Jessica Parker wore black on her wedding day and now she regrets that decision. She plans to wear the white, traditional dress if she does vow renewals. @Blackie: I voted wear what you want its your wedding! The bride will always look stunning……I happen to think just by looking at you that you would look amazing in red!

Wear whatever you want! The first dress is really interesting and unique, and I think it looks great on you. The whole “wear white” is such an old tradition anyway, I think we can all look past it.

@lilbluebird: I know what you mean but I did wear white for my first wedding so it is not as if I have never had that experience

Wear whatever you want. All that is important is that you are getting married and you feel like the princess you deserve to feel like.

It was my only wedding and I wanted to wear navy. Everyone talked me out of it. I really regret wearing ivory. I think you would look kick ass in that black dress, work it!
