I’m sure you’ve all seen the flip flop baskets for dancing…there’s a twist on it for winter weddings, and I think it’s really really cute…blankets! http://www.stylemepretty.com/living/2010/07/07/diy-keep-warm-blankets/
I’m getting married in December, and although the ceremony isn’t outdoors, I still think it’s a cute idea. It’s a simple church, just one room, but it is heated. Do you think it’s dumb to do this if it’s not outdoors?

@Mata_Hari: It is a cute idea but might seem like you are trying too hard when the wedding is in a heated church.

I have seen something like that on Four Weddings but the bride had her wedding outside when it was a little chilly. If it’s a heated church I think it may just be too much.

We were going to give out blankets at our ceremony but due to logistics we decided to use them in the hotel welcome package. People actually brought them to the ceremony. All in all I think it is a nice touch. Since your ceremony is indoors maybe you could do a welcome package?

Ive loved this idea for the longest although not in a basket but tied to the back of the chairs and then they double up as decorations. Are there any activities going on outside (sparkler exit? an area to chill out outside??) Then you could write a little note like written here with something like “To keep you warm when we go outside”

@leecy87: +1 that is so cute! Love that it doubles as decor 🙂

Cute idea but you won’t need blankets inside. I agree with the other bees that if you have something outside, definitely have them, but if the wedding/reception will be completely indoors, it seems a bit silly to have blankets sitting around.
I do like the blanket tied around the chair/used as decor. Very unique.
