Hi bees! How I wish I could be anonymous for this because I hate having to even come on here and ask. But I’m a worrier so here I am.
Last Saturday (7 days ago) FI and I had intercourse. This was the first time since July so it felt pretty rough. Immediately after I went to the restroom to freshen up and now see spotting. I brush it off but it hasn’t gone away. I’ve been spotting for a week now. I’m on BCPs and had been taking them pretty regularly. Ive just been chalking it up to it being rough and us not having done this in a while. But now it’s kinda worrying me because it hasn’t stopped. I will also throw in that I just started teaching and the past two weeks have been intense to say the least.
Sorry if this was super long. Thank you thank you thank you!

omglauren: Abnormal vaginal bleeding is always worrisome. But, it’s not always serious.
Do the Check your symptoms quiz here (upper left) and it will tell you whether or not you should see a doctor.

omglauren: May I ask why you haven’t had intercouse since July? If it was because you had a baby, could it be you’re not fully healed down there?

mrs.joiner: no, no baby. Just because of not living in the same house, busy schedules. Sadly we don’t get to do this as often as we would like so I figured since it’s been a long time, it was like having inter course for the first time all over again.

Bump. Any ideas? Thoughts? Just trying to ease my mind.

omglauren: Did you do the quiz that julies1949: suggested?
Do you have periods inbetween your packs of BCP, or do you take the active pills back to back? When was your last period? How extensive is the spotting? The most likely candidate is normally breakthrough period bleeding, but it’s hard to know if that’s what going on. An intense period of stress could definitely contribute to this though!
If you are sore, and feel that this is the result of your recreational fun time, it’s time to go and see a doctor. Minor splits and bothers are not uncommon, but if it hasn’t healed within a week then that is a problem.
Try not to worry – the important thing is that you take all precautions to make sure that you’re not ignoring a bigger issue, even though it’s unlikely to be one.
