I have had period like bleeding, it will be 4 days tomm morning. This bleeding started exactly a week before my period was due. I haven’t been taking my pill correctly, for at least a few days this month I took it 12 hours or later than I was suppossed to, I even missed at least a day or more this month of the pill. My boyfriend came in me a bit this month too (sorry for tmi). I have been experiencing symptoms to lately as in: gas cramps, back and hipache, seems like I’m peeing more, and severe irritablility. Could this be breakthrough bleeding due to me not taking the pill correctly? Could this be implantation bleeding? (Some peoples can be heavy like mine) Should I take a pregnancy test?
Thanks so much for the help.
Sorry for soo much tmi

I doubt you are pregnant if bleeding so heavily for so long. I think it’s deffinitely withdrawall bleeding. Just wait untill it stops and then take a pregnancy test just so you are sure.

psychedelicxd : I wouldn’t jump to assume pregnancy in this case, but maybe call your doctor as they have more of your medical history and can better diagnose you.

When I was in the pill if I missed three days in a row, I experienced bleeding like you are. You said you missed one or more days, so I think it’s likely you are experiencing a withdrawal bleed. Use a back up method for now!

Take a test to put your mind at ease but you’re likely not pregnant.

Like 75% of the symptoms you described don’t happen until much later. Your hormones are probably whacked from not taking your pill properly. Of course, if you think there is a chance, you should take a test. If your symptoms are due to pregnancy than a test will be positive.

Thanks for the help, I’m probably just going to wait and see when this stops, because I’ve had breakthrough bleeding before and when I had it, it continued while I would be getting my period. So if continues while I should be having my period then I should be okay, but if the bleeding is done in like the next day and I don’t get any blood around my period, then I feel like I should test. Or should I wait it out to see if I get next months period?

First–use condoms or some other form of backup birth control until you figure this out.
If you don’t have a normal period when you should go ahead and test–better safe than sorry–and then make sure to use your birth control as you should or explore other methods, such as a shot, implant or IUD if keeping up with the pill isn’t for you.
