I had a friend who started bleeding after intercourse b/c her bc pill caused the lining of her vagina to thin out.  She changed her bc pill and it cleared up.

If it’s just a small amount of blood, I wouldn’t worry about it – sometimes things just get moved around and extra blood can flow out.  However, if having sex causes you to bleed for a day or two, time to see the Dr.!

I had this for many years. Some drs. told me not to worry about it, but I finally had one, then another, tell me what it is. I might mess up the explanation a little bit, but basically, they told me that it is caused by cells in my body that have never had any kind of “interference” before. Because I am fairly small and have never had children, it does not take much for the cells to rupture. I did notice that for me, it would happen with a new partner. In fact, I was with one partner for 6 years and it stopped happening and when we broke up and I met Fiance, it happened again (it hadn’t happened for many years). that kind of confirmed what the dr. had said- that cells that were not being “reached” had healed over and then ruptured again with a new “shape” (sorry, Too Much Information and I am not explaining it right).

I don’t know if that is what is going on with you, and I definitely think you should get checked out. It never hurts to ask a dr. and believe me they’ve heard worse. But I don’t think you should panic. I don’t think it is that unusual.

I’ve had this problem, and never heard this explanation–but I found yours totally fascinating.  Am I weird?  Probably.  But it makes total sense.

Anyway, I’ll be asking my doctor if this could be a cause.  Thanks!
