I was abouy seven weeks along, I was having some light spotting, like before a period, not red blood. It happend after sex. I went to the midwife on a Friday, she did an ultrasound and couldn’t see the sac, just that my uterus was pregnant. she said my dates were probably off and it should be fine. Then the following Monday, at about 4:30 I had to leave work early because I started bleeding badly like a period. At 6:30pm I passed the baby. It happens pretty quickly and was similar to a bad period. I was advised not to use tamponsand go to the er if i was bleeding profusely. The bleeding stopped about a week later and my period returned right on schedule.

Im sorry my story isn’t a happy one but it seems you were looking for other similar experiences regardless of outcome.

Im so sorry you are going through this and I really hope you have some good support people. i couldn’t have done it without my husband and the ladies of the bee are very helpful too.

Good luck! If it helps, I had bleeding (bright red) for about 2 weeks in the first trimester. I never found the cause, but I’m now 30 weeks pregnant.

I had some bleeding around 7 weeks and my doctor had my blood drawn. Turns out that my progesterone levels were super low while my HcG levels were normal. She put me on progestrone  suppositories which helped prevent a m/c. I’m not 23 weeks pregnant with twins lol. Maybe your levels just may be off?

@Anewmommatobe:  Fingers crossed that everything is ok. I didn’t have bleeding but many women do. I don’t even want to take a guess in your case. Just sending positive thoughts your way.

Sorry you are dealing with this.  I have seen both sides of the coin, a lot of bees have had bleeding (some heavy, some light) and gone on to have healthy babies. Some have had miscarriages.

A lot of the time the bleeding is baby nesting in there deeper. It’s possible that you O’d later and that’s why you’re measuring a few days behind. FX you see a healthy baby and heartbeat at your next appt!

My first pregnancy i had bright red bleeding with clots at around 5 or 6 weeks, everything was fine i have a healthy 4 year old. However i have also had this twice where i did miscarry. Bottom line – not all bleeding = miscarriage but red bleeding is not normal either. Keep an eye on it and take it easy. You are right that nothing can save it if it is a m/c but losing so much blood at once takes its tole on you and you might feel ill or not yourself so relax and take it easy and FX that everything is okay x

I have also experienced both sides of this so there really is no way to know unfortunately.  The first time I started spotting brown around 7.5 weeks, they did an u/s and saw the baby and a heartbeat (albeit a bit on the slower side perhaps but still normal) and told me to wait it out.  In the middle of the night, the spotting turned bright red and I started cramping (some cramping in early pregnancy is normal but this was on the level of my normal period cramping) and I miscarried naturally that next day.  This pregnancy, I had spotting at 5.5 weeks, started red then turned brown.  It lasted 2 days but never got heavier or turned red again.  A week later, I got some more brown spotting and passed a tiny clot as well.  I was sure that was a bad sign, but I am now 34 weeks pregnant with a healthy baby girl.  Blood, even red blood, can turn out to be ok.  I hope your next appt goes well and you get some good news.  I also hope your spotting will stop to help ease your worries.  I completely understand how unnerving it is to see blood during pregnancy.

@Anewmommatobe:  I had two pregnancies and I bled a little with both. The first one resulted in a miscarriage and the second one resulted in  a healthy baby. So it is too early to tell and the only thing you can do it wait. Hugs to you. I know you are worried but you have to try not to worry.

I am 11 weeks and just had our first ultrasound and heard the heartbeat yesterday.  I have had spotting off and on the whole time.  Bright red, brown, one small clot, and pink when I wipe.  I hope everything turns out ok for you, it’s so scary when it happens.
