I’ve never been pregnant but if I were you I would call my doctor right away.

gabrielle30999 :

Right around the time my period was due, I had brown spotting. It wasn’t heavy though. I would call your ob for reassurance

I also had brown spotting right around here. You can check with your doctor but don’t freak yet.

Just checking you’re 4 weeks pregnant right? I had lots of spotting in early pregnancy. The general rule is that if it’s brown, it’s old and likely to be implantation or some left over blood.

That said you should let the doctor know. Unfortunately at 4 weeks there is nothing they can do. Around 6 and a half weeks they will be able to scan you and might see a heartbeat, before then there isn’t much to see.

Brown blood usually means old blood and isn’t usually a cause for concern. Call your doctor anyway though.

Unfortunately, if you are having a MC, there’s nothing you can do about it. In the early stages it’s purely a waiting game.

And you said you’re 2 weeks pregnant? Do you mean 4 weeks pregnant? Like 2 weeks since your missed period?

gabrielle30999 :  I had red bleeding that was implantation bleeding close to 4 weeks pregnant (assuming you are 4 weeks pregnant?  or 6 weeks as in 2 weeks since missed period?  “2 weeks pregnant” is the equivalent of the day you ovulated unless you’re referring to gestational age of 2 weeks).  Brown blood is usually “old” blood.  Bleeding/spotting can be more common in pregnancy than you might think and doesn’t necessarily mean there is a miscarriage but it’s best to call your doctor and be checked out.

Hi bee, i would suggest that you call your doctor asap.  Only your doctor can confirm if anything is wrong.

Gah I was here last week. I don’t mean to scare you, but mine started out brown and was a full on flow by morning. I had a chemical pregnancy. I was about 4.5 weeks along. Sending positive vibes your way.

gabrielle30999 :  call your doc because its either nothing or a miscarriage. If you are Rh-negative they may want to give you a rhogam shot since you’re bleeding.

If you have a Nurseline where you live or in your insurance overage, they would be an alternative to calling your doctor. I don’t know what it’s like where you live, but here it’s next to impossible to speak with a doctor on the phone and the office staff (most aren’t nurses) will just tell you to make an appointment, or go to urgent care.

Bleeding in pregnancy is frightening, but unless it is in an amount that would be a threat to your life, there is nothing a doctor can do about it.

You can do this Check Your Symptoms if you like to help you make a decision. This is from our Provincial Nurseline.

Good luck to you Bee.

I had a subchorionic hematoma at 12 weeks and bled. I was convinced I was having (another) miscarriage. But everything turned out fine and my baby is now 15 months old.

gabrielle30999 :  I had some bleeding with my daughter (my first). For the life i dont recall what the OBGYN told me it was the reason. I do recall being told that it was normal in some women. I hope that everything is okay with you.

I had a bleed from 9 to 12 weeks that was a subchorionic hematoma, it cleared up and I’m close to 33 weeks pregnant now.

I’m assuming you are actually 4 weeks pregnant, but that could also be implantation bleeding. Theres a few things it could be but unfortunately only time will tell. Hang in there and keep us updated!
