For the past week and a half, he has been battling some sort of illness.

Symptoms: fatigue, low energy, night sweats, coughing, low grade fevers, reduced appetite, and a swollen lymph node in his neck. Overall, he just feels like crap.
He went to the doctor last week and antibiotics haven’t helped. He went back today to have blood tests done and should have the results back tomorrow.
I am naturally a worrier, and these are all classic symptoms of lymphoma, so I am making myself sick over it. I am praying it’s not anything serious. The doctor suspected a virus and ran a test for mono/strep. Fingers crossed.

Rue7514: Try, try not to get too worried til you get the results. I recently had a bout of something where I went to the ER and left before being seen (terrible insurance). I googled all my symptoms, like I usually do, and of course it came up with a bunch of dreaded things. I was pretty convinced I had cancer. And it turned out to be nothing when I went to the MD a couple days later. Like literally the smallest thing ever. My fingers are crossed for you and tryyyy to relax if you can…

RedHeadKel: I Google my symptoms, too. HUGE mistake! OP. try not to worry!

Those are also many of the symptoms of mono, or any wide variety of viral infections that wouldn’t be cured by antibiotics. I’m sure it’s not lymphoma. Try not to worry. 🙂

Don’t worry. Two weeks I ended up losing my hearing, sense of smell and taste for two weeks, and thought I was dying. Turns out it was a sinus infection which cleared up this week and everything is back to normal. I wouldn’t worry until the doctor actually say it’s something to worry about.

Thanks, all. Trying to keep my mind off of it. Google is the absolute worst for this sort of thing, and I wish I had the willpower not to use it!
I leave this week for a 6-day work trip, which is stressing the hell out of me in the case he finds out it’s something serious. I need to be here!
Breathe, breathe, breathe.

Test came back ……MONO.
I literally screamed when he texted me the results.
Of course all of you were right!
