Ok, so Im in need of suggestions, and I know you bees can always lend some help! I’m blinging out the heel of my shoes, and I cant decide if i should stick with one size crystal, or mix it up. For anyone who has done this, what strategy did you use and why? Let me know what you think, ladies!
(As you can see, I already started, but am patiently waiting your suggestions!) 🙂

@miranda21: I would definitely use different sizes. It looks very monotone when you use all one size versus using a few different sizes. Using a few different sizes gives more dimension to the look of it.

I would stick to one size. I think using different sized stones might make them look more home made. good luck

@martinca: I completed this project myself and here are my shoes in not so good light.
I used 20ss, 12ss, 9ss, and 7ss.
Here’s a picture of someone else’s and they used 16ss, 12ss, 7ss, and 5ss
Personally, I believe that using all one size looks more homemade. The concept of these shoes started with CL strass shoes. Loubutin uses several different sizes to complete the style of the shoe, so if you wanted something very similar, it would be ideal to use different sizes like the original designer.

i’d go with different sizes to give it that wet sparkly look…and i’d do the platforms to match the heels! those shoes are adorable…do you mind if i ask who makes them?

@cardus: I actually purchased them on ebay for 24 bucks! i just went to the site that I bought them from, and there are none left. It was several months ago, tho. 🙁 I even searched for them on ebay, and nothing. that’s a good idea to do the platform as well, thanks!
