So after a very discouraging dress shopping experience at Taffeta and Tulle last year (read original post here), I ended up having a wonderful dress experience at Blissful Bridal. I had actually seen the dress I ended up choosing on a manequin at one of the Bridal shows in Calgary in January 2011. It was spotted across the room and I ended up going back to it two or three times that day, but didn’t go straight to the store because it was a little outside my budget…okay double the budget. 😉
After my experience at Taffeta and Tulle, I decided I needed to lift my spirits so I ended up trying the dress on anyways. It was love at first sight. I didn’t buy it right then but booked another day to try a few other salons and other dresses. Nothing compared. I ended up ordering the dress last July along with a veil.
The ladies at Blissful Bridal were wonderful to deal with. When my veil came in I ended up wanting something different. They were great to work with and we were able to come up with a compromise that worked for all of us. I would recommend them to anyone.
My only suggestion is, if you can, go there in the summer months. It’s a lot quieter and you get a true dress shopping experience. I went back in February with my girls to look at bridesmaid dresses and there was a little bit of a wait for dressing rooms and it was very crowded.
