Lots of water, veggies, and cut back on the salt and alcohol.  You can also try some natural remedies like pepper and ginger teas, or water infused with cucumber, mint leaves, and lemon.  Delicious and refreshing!

Try cutting out dairy and carbs too. Also, too much sugar could do it. I take a probiotic everyday as well. That helps me a lot. I deal with gas and bloat all the time 🙁 still eliminating things from my diet to see what works best. I feel your pain.

Yes to a probiotic!  Do you feel like you’ve been eating different foods lately, even if they are still healthy?  Sometimes a change in diet can cause bloating.

Have you noticed any other symptoms?  Gas, weird bathroom habits, etc.?  If this is something that doesn’t go away and you start noticing other digestive issues that don’t go away, it would be time to see a doctor.  I have IBS and I deal with bloating on almost a daily basis along with other symptoms.  It sucks, but once I was diagnosed and able to treat it things got a lot better!  I’m currently in the process of re-tweaking meds with my doctor since the bloating and other symptoms came back worse than they had been in a long time.

Dogmummy:  I have this problem too. Have you ever tried chewing each bite of food 40 times before you swallow? I’m a really fast eater and probably swallow a lot of air with my food. Also, it’s harder for your body to break down and absorb food in large chunks, so bigger food particles get fed to gut bacteria who then produce a ton of gas as they feast away. I know it helps me, now if I could really remember to do this more than I do…

Drink 100 oz of water every day until then. Drink warm water with fresh lemon first thing in the morning before you eat breakfast. Load up on water filled fruits and veggies: Cucumbers, tomatoes, watermelon, celery. Make sure you’re eating easy-to-digest food. Cut out all carbonated beverages and alcohol, but if you drink coffee you can drink it, sometimes that actually helps me with bloating.
Feel better!

I also just read you’ve had a cold! I had a cold last month and took a lot of meds and I was umm…Plugged up and bloated too. But it might just be the meds. Your body should recover in time for your fitting.
